’The door feels red hot, as though a fire is burning behind it. I press an ear to the wood – but there’s no crackle. No smoke. Just deep heavy breathing… and a curious dripping sound. My hand’s on the door knob. Inside the room, somebody giggles – low, throaty, sadistic. There’s a ripping sound, followed by snaps and crunches. My hand turns. The door opens. Hell is revealed.’
Grubbs Grady is a normal teenager living in Ireland. He lives with his mom, dad, and sister. But he gets suspicious when his family starts to act differently…
I enjoyed this book very much! It’s dark, it’s scary, it has a bit if humor in it…! But most of all, it’s interesting. There are lots of twists and turns and unexpected surprises! I was entertained until the very last page. I enjoyed the other nine Demonata books as well!

Summary: Jack is writing letters to his teacher in a notebook. The teacher suggests him to write a poem, but at first he said he couldn’t. Jack wrote things about his dead dog, Sky, and the teacher liked his words and sentences as a poem. They talked about poems they read in class and Jack liked one writer, Mr. Walter Dean Myers. He wrote a letter to him to please if he had time, he could come to Jack’s school. Luckily, Mr. Walter Dean Myers came to visit his class. Jack had a wonderful day. The book ends with Jack’s letter to Mr.Walter Dean Myers and his poem, inspired, by Mr.Walter Dean Myers.
Comments: This book is only made out of Jack’s words in the notebook or his letter. So, it was easy to read and I thought it was a unique way to write a book. I liked this book because I liked Jack’s sentences about Sky. It made me feel want to meet the dog and pat him. I recommend this book to people who likes dogs.
