’The door feels red hot, as though a fire is burning behind it. I press an ear to the wood – but there’s no crackle. No smoke. Just deep heavy breathing… and a curious dripping sound. My hand’s on the door knob. Inside the room, somebody giggles – low, throaty, sadistic. There’s a ripping sound, followed by snaps and crunches. My hand turns. The door opens. Hell is revealed.’

Grubbs Grady is a normal teenager living in Ireland. He lives with his mom, dad, and sister. But he gets suspicious when his family starts to act differently…

I enjoyed this book very much! It’s dark, it’s scary, it has a bit if humor in it…! But most of all, it’s interesting. There are lots of twists and turns and unexpected surprises! I was entertained until the very last page. I enjoyed the other nine Demonata books as well!

The Graveyard Book

the graveyard bookBook tittle: The Graveyard Book

Author: Neil Gaiman

Genre: Horror/Fantasy

This book is about a boy named Nobody Owens. He lives in a graveyard in England with his ghost foster parents and his guardian, Silas.

One night, when Bod was a toddler, the man Jack came to kill him and his family. The man Jack murdered Bod’s father and his mother. He had taken care of Bod’s elder sister. All the man Jack has to do left, was to kill Bod…

But Bod had heard his parents being killed, and woke up. He soon got bored and crept out of his baby cot. He went downstairs, out of the house,  up the hill, and into the Graveyard before the man Jack could get him.

Mrs. Owens found Bod in the Graveyard. She wanted so badly to keep Bod as her own son. She and Mr. Owens had never had any children of their own. But most of the other residents of the Graveyard do not want to keep Bod. But the Lady on the Grey appears and tells them they should.

As Bod gets older, he has adventures. He meets ghouls, makes friends with a dead witch, tries to go to school with normal living kids, and he meets the man Jack and the Jacks of All Trades after many, many years…

I really enjoyed this book! No matter how many times I read it, I never get tired of it. A reason I love this book is because of the way that the book is different from most books that are about death.  The Graveyard Book makes you look at death in a new way. The way this book describes the dead and the living and all the things in-between is very unique!

Author:Daphne Du Maurier
Genre: Horror, Mystery, Romance
Rating: ★★★★★

In my summer holidays, I read a Horror/Mystery novel called Rebecca. There was romance in it as well as many unexpected twists which were very enjoyable.

“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderly again” is this book’s famous opening line. The moment I saw the cover of this book, it looked scary and interesting as it was a dark cover and my eyes got struck to the book very quickly. The first bit was pretty boring to be honest, but after you read the first chapter, it becomes so intriguing and you just can’t stop reading. You would think that Rebecca is the main character as it is the name of the title, but actually it isn’t although Rebecca is an important part of the book.

I really liked the author’s technique of not mentioning the main Character’s name so that the reader could think and wonder about why it isn’t mentioned e.t.c. This book has many twists and I was surprised that the whole story changed at the end because of an unpredictable twist. *spoiler alert!* I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I recommend it you so you can live through the experience I lived in this breathtaking story!

Twilight series – Breaking dawn

Rate: ★★★☆☆

Breaking dawn is the fourth and the last book from the Twilight series.

Breaking dawn  was the climax of the twilight series, so the story was very

fast-moving and it was enjoyable.

In this book, Bella and Edward finally decides to marry, and they goes

for a honeymoon to Brazil. During the honeymoon, Bella realizes that

she is pregnant, and the baby seemed to be half vampire and half human.

The story continues about the baby`s growth, and Bella`s relationship

with Jacob and her father.

Breaking dawn was very enjoyable, and it is also going to be a movie

in February 2012.

But the bad point is that the book is too long, and since there are many

difficult words and phrases, it might be a bit hard for young children.

Pandora’s Clock (by John J. Nance)

I’ve finished this book and found it a little challenging.

I think it is a good book for people who likes pandemic horror things since it was a story about an airplane that had a possibility of having a Ω class virus which was bout from the Soviet-Union.

This story changes viewpoints to lot’s of people and used good words to explain their feelings and movements so I think it is also good to read and learn the technique from the book.

I kind of like the way it ends but I was curios about if this ending really was possible to happen.

this is the address of the book in Amazon.

Thank you for reading.

Comments: Before you read this book, I recommend to read a book called The Vampire Assistant Series because these books is related to this book. I thought this book was really sad because Larten lost everything he had and he became a vampire. I liked Larten when he killed Trez because Trez was the killer of Vur and I thought he shouldn’t be alive anymore. I highly recommend this book because Darren Shan Series have little different taste than other books. If you start reading it, I bet you won’t stop it.
