Author: Linda Sue Park
Summary: The book starts off with the Holts, another family in the competition, telling Dan and Amy that they know that they’re going to the Caribbean next. They suspect that their au pair, Nellie, told them. They confront her and she admits that she is working for William McIntyre and that he probably told them. They thought that they could trust McIntyre because he was Grace’s (their grandmother who died and got them started on the clue hunt) lawyer. They can’t tell if she is telling the truth or not so they stop trusting her. They get to the Caribbean and there they work with non-Cahill Lester. He helps them find the clue but trouble occurs….
Comments: I thought that this was a good book. It was probably the best in the 39 clues series so far. I liked that this time they find out the truth instead of all the lies they usually get. I thought that this book had a good ending but a bad one because they finally find out the truth about their branch, the Madrigals, and the man in the black, but it was bad because something went wrong and things went bad, again. I recommend this book to people who have read the eight books before this one and wants to continue reading it.
